  • Zones & attractions: Explore three underground rivers, the beach, inlet and natural pools, the Aviary, Butterfly Pavilion, Coral Reef Aquarium, sea turtle area, Mayan Village, Mexican Cemetery, and cultural performance spaces.
  • Unique experiences: Xcaret México Espectacular is the park’s signature evening show. Several marine encounters, adventure activities, and dining experiences cost extra and are not included with standard admission.
  • Queues & access: Guests must validate their tickets and may need to present a physical passport. Booking online provides access to dedicated ticket windows, but it does not guarantee skip-the-line entry at attractions.
  • When to book: Book early when selecting transportation, Plus admission, or a weekend visit. Official Xcaret bookings may also offer an advance-purchase discount when made at least seven days before the visit.
  • Good to know: Xcaret is open daily from 8:30am to 10pm, making it a full-day experience. Basic admission excludes buffet lunch, lockers, and complimentary snorkel equipment; Plus includes them, although a refundable deposit may be required for the gear.

Start with a clear park plan

Scan your ticket at the main entrance, pick up the Xcaret park map, and choose a color-coded route before setting off. Begin with the underground rivers early, then move toward the wildlife and cultural areas to avoid unnecessary backtracking.

Swim through Xcaret’s underground rivers

Float through caves and limestone tunnels along the Blue River, Pre-Hispanic River, or Manatee River. Life jackets are provided, and intermediate exits let you shorten the route before it opens near the Caribbean coast.

Explore wildlife and natural habitats

Walk through the Aviary and Butterfly Pavilion, then continue to the Coral Reef Aquarium and sea turtle area. These Xcaret Park activities combine wildlife exhibits, jungle paths, waterfalls, and shaded tropical spaces.

Discover Mexican history and traditions

Explore the Mayan Village, Mexican Cemetery, archaeological remains, folk-art spaces, and cultural performances. Traditional music, regional dances, Pre-Hispanic ceremonies, and equestrian displays unfold across the park throughout the day.

Break for food and coastal views

Pause at one of the park’s buffet restaurants before heading to Xcaret Beach, the inlet, or natural pools. Xcaret Plus tickets include one buffet lunch, lockers, changing facilities, and snorkel equipment.

End with Xcaret México Espectacular

Finish your visit at Gran Tlachco for the signature evening show, where more than 300 performers bring Mexico’s history, music, costumes, and folklore to the stage. Arrive early to settle into your seat.

Things to know before booking your Xcaret Park tickets

Booking window

Xcaret Park admission is date-specific. Book at least 7 days ahead when possible, especially for weekends, Easter, summer, and late December. Transfer-inclusive options have limited hotel pickup capacity and should be reserved early. Official online bookings made 7 days ahead may receive a discount, but Headout prices and offers can differ.

Choose your admission type

Standard admission covers Xcaret Park’s included natural and cultural attractions. Xcaret Plus adds one buffet meal, access to the Plus Area with lockers, changing rooms, and private restrooms, plus snorkel equipment. Do not mention a late-entry ticket here unless one is currently sold in the Headout assortment.

Consider the Plus upgrade

Xcaret Plus is useful for a full-day visit because it bundles lunch and essential facilities instead of requiring separate purchases inside the park. Standard admission does not include the buffet meal or Plus Area access.

Add transportation if needed

Selected tickets include round-trip transportation from Cancun, Playa del Carmen, or the Riviera Maya. Transportation must be chosen during booking, and the exact pickup point and time depend on your hotel or designated meeting location.

Compare the wider assortment

This page also offers tickets to Xel-Há, Xplor, Xenses, and Xoximilco. Choose Xcaret for a mix of nature, wildlife, Mexican culture, and the evening show; pick a sister experience when snorkeling, adventure activities, sensory attractions, or nightlife is your priority.

Check ticket conditions

Carry the identification specified on your voucher, particularly when using official transportation or child-priced tickets. Cancellation, date-change, and refund terms vary by product, so check the policy shown on the selected Headout experience before booking.

Xcaret Park map

Xcaret Park is organized into six color-coded routes connecting its underground rivers, wildlife habitats, cultural attractions, beaches, restaurants, and visitor facilities. Use the map to plan a logical route, locate lockers and changing rooms, and reach Gran Tlachco in time for Xcaret México Espectacular.

Follow the black route for Xcaret’s underground rivers, jungle trails, manatee lagoon, archaeological remains, and Children’s World. Start here early if swimming is a priority, then continue toward the coastal areas.

Aquarium Route

The blue route brings together the Coral Reef Aquarium, sea turtles, archaeological remains, and cultural performances. It is a good option for visitors interested in marine life and a slower-paced walk.

Mayan Village Route

The white route combines the Aviary, Butterfly Pavilion, Mayan Village, Mexican Cemetery, artisan spaces, and Pre-Hispanic traditions. Choose it for wildlife, culture, and some of the park’s most photographed settings.

México Espectacular Route

The brown route passes Hacienda Henequenera, folk-art spaces, the Scenic Tower, and Gran Tlachco Theater. Follow it later in the day before taking your seat for Xcaret México Espectacular.

Beach Route

The green route leads to Xcaret Beach, the inlet, restaurants, snorkeling areas, and coastal relaxation spots. Visit after the underground rivers for swimming, lunch, and time beside the Caribbean Sea.

Dolphins Route

The red route follows the Caribbean-facing side of the park, connecting natural pools, marine activities, restaurants, and coastal viewpoints. Some dolphin and water experiences along this route cost extra.

Things to do at Xcaret Park

From underground rivers and wildlife habitats to Mexican traditions and the signature evening show, Xcaret Park activities combine nature, culture, and coastal experiences in one full-day visit.

Visiting Xcaret Park with Kids?

Xcaret Park works well for families, but it is a large, full-day attraction, so planning breaks is important. Children can explore dedicated play areas, wildlife habitats, cultural spaces, and supervised water activities, while stroller rentals and buffet dining make the day easier for parents.

  • Children’s World: A dedicated area for children under 12 with water activities, lifeguards, and mandatory life jackets.
  • Underground rivers: Families can swim together with mandatory life jackets and use intermediate exits to shorten the route.
  • Wildlife attractions: The Aviary, Butterfly Pavilion, Coral Reef Aquarium, and sea turtle area offer engaging stops between longer walks.
  • Easy breaks: Strollers are available to rent, and shaded areas and restaurants provide places to pause during the day.
  • Child tickets: Children aged 5–11 receive reduced admission, while children aged 0–4 enter free under the park’s stated conditions.
