Quick overview

  • One core experience: Xoxi is a fixed-format nighttime fiesta built around a roughly 3-hour trajinera cruise with dinner, drinks, live music, games, and entertainment.
  • Your main choice: Choose the standard ticket if arranging your own travel, or add round-trip transportation for hotel or designated meeting-point pickup and drop-off.
  • Evening schedule: Registration starts at 7pm, with the last trajinera boarding at 8:30pm and the experience ending around 11pm.
  • Dinner & drinks included: Your ticket includes a multi-course Mexican tasting menu, flavored waters, soft drinks, and an open bar with tequila, beer, rum, and vodka.
  • Expect to participate: This is a social, host-led experience with games, dancing, mariachi, marimba, norteño, and other live Mexican music, rather than a passive dinner cruise.
  • Best upgrade: Pick transportation if you plan to use the open bar or would rather not arrange a late-night ride back after the experience.

What to expect at Xoxi Park

Start at the kermés

Check in, ease into the night with flavored waters, traditional games, a Xorbito tasting, and live mariachi before heading to your assigned trajinera.

Board your trajinera

Settle in with your host for the roughly 3-hour canal journey. Unlike a typical park, the experience follows one continuous route rather than separate rides or zones.

Dinner unfolds onboard

A Mexican tasting menu is served as you cruise, so the meal becomes part of the experience rather than a separate restaurant stop.

Live music moves with you

Expect changing Mexican music styles through the night, including mariachi, norteño, ranchero, marimba, jarana, and banda de pueblo.

Join the party, don’t just watch

Your host drives games, dancing, and group interaction, while surprise entertainment such as the luchadores’ dance keeps the evening participatory.

Wrap up around 11pm

After the canal ride, dinner, drinks, and entertainment, the night ends back at the venue. If you added transportation, your return journey is already arranged.

Things to know before booking your Xoxi tickets

  • Book for the evening, not a time slot: Xoxi runs Monday to Saturday. Check-in starts at 7pm, last boarding is 8:30pm, and the experience ends around 11pm.
  • One ticket covers the fiesta: Your ticket includes the welcome kermés, ~3-hour trajinera ride, Mexican tasting dinner, open bar, live music, games, and a personal host. There are no separate zones or shows to book.
  • Transport is the real choice: Standard admission does not automatically include transfers. Add transportation at booking for pickup from eligible locations in Cancun, Playa del Carmen, or Riviera Maya; otherwise arrange your own late-night return.
  • Expect a social experience: Trajineras hold approximately 20 guests, so unless travelling with a large group, expect to share the boat. The host-led games, dancing, drinks, and music make participation a big part of the night.
  • Dinner is already included: More than 20 Mexican specialties are served onboard alongside an open bar of tequila, rum, vodka, beer, soft drinks, and flavored waters. Vegan and children's menus are available.
  • Check children's eligibility: Xoxi admits guests from age 5. Children aged 5–11 receive the operator's child rate and may need photo ID to verify their age.
  • Bring the right ID: The operator requires a valid physical passport at the ticket booth or before boarding included transportation; digital copies are not accepted.

The Mexican traditions behind your Xoxi night

Xoxi borrows from Mexican traditions of food, music, fiestas, and canal celebrations. Here’s the context behind some of the things you’ll experience during the night.

The trajinera tradition

Xoxi takes inspiration from the colorful trajineras associated with Xochimilco in Mexico City. Once you board, the boat becomes much more than transportation: it’s where you eat, toast, meet other guests, play games, dance, and watch musicians perform as you travel along the canals.

Look out for:

  • Brightly decorated trajineras
  • Passing musicians
  • Groups celebrating boat-to-boat

A kermés-style welcome

Don't rush straight to the boat. The welcome area is modeled around the spirit of a kermés, a festive gathering built around food, drinks, games, and music. At Xoxi, flavored waters, traditional games, Xorbito tasting, and live mariachi turn your arrival into the first part of the celebration.

Don't miss:

  • Xorbito tasting
  • Traditional games
  • Welcome mariachi

Sounds from across Mexico

The music doesn't stay in one style all night. Performances move through different Mexican sounds, including mariachi, norteño, ranchero, marimba, jarana, and banda de pueblo. The changing bands give different parts of the trajinera journey their own energy rather than making it feel like one continuous dinner show.

You'll hear:

  • Mariachi & ranchero
  • Norteño & marimba
  • Jarana & banda de pueblo

Mexico served onboard

There isn't a restaurant stop halfway through the evening. The Mexican tasting dinner is served onboard your trajinera, so the meal unfolds alongside the music, games, and canal journey. Multiple dishes and desserts are served during the experience, with an included open bar and non-alcoholic options.

Part of your ticket:

  • Mexican tasting menu
  • Desserts
  • Open bar & soft drinks

What to expect from the Xoxi atmosphere?

  • Social intensity: High. Xoxi is built around a shared trajinera, host-led games, dancing, drinks, and group interaction. If you prefer quiet or private experiences, this format may feel too social.
  • Sound level: Expect frequent live music including mariachi, norteño, marimba, ranchero, jarana, and banda de pueblo. Conversation can be harder while musicians are performing nearby.
  • Pacing & autonomy: Low flexibility. Once you board, the roughly 3-hour experience follows a hosted sequence of dinner, drinks, music, games, and entertainment rather than free exploration.
  • Alcohol environment: An open bar is part of the standard experience, so drinking is visible throughout the night. Non-alcoholic drinks are available, but the atmosphere remains party-oriented.
  • Age suitability: Xoxi is for guests aged 5+, but the late finish, loud music, and strongly social atmosphere may suit older children and adults better than younger kids.
  • Accessibility & comfort: Seating is primarily onboard the trajinera. If you have mobility or accessibility requirements, confirm arrangements with Xcaret before booking because detailed accessibility coverage is not clearly published.

Plan your visit to Xoxi Park

Group enjoying a festive boat ride at Xoximilco Park, Cancun.
  • Operating days: Monday to Saturday.
  • Check-in: Starts at 7pm.
  • Last boarding: 8:30pm.
  • End of experience: Around 11pm. The official schedule may change due to regulations.

Best time to visit

  • Arrive around 7pm: Don’t treat 8:30pm as your target arrival time. Coming earlier gives you time for check-in and the welcome activities before boarding.

  • Driving yourself? Have a designated driver. The open bar is a central part of the experience.

  • Outside food and drinks: These are not permitted, except food for babies such as formula and purées.

Tips & guidelines

  • Get there for the kermés: Registration begins at 7pm, while last boarding is at 8:30pm. Arriving earlier gives you time to enjoy the welcome kermés, games, tastings, and mariachi before boarding your trajinera.
  • Plan the 3-hour boat experience: Once aboard, Xoxi follows a hosted sequence of dinner, drinks, games, dancing, and live music. It isn't a free-roam attraction where you can leave and rejoin whenever you like.
  • Sort out your ride home: The experience finishes around 11pm. If you're planning to enjoy the open bar, choose the ticket with round-trip transfers or arrange your return beforehand rather than driving.
  • Request vegan food beforehand: A vegan menu is available, but request it through the operator/customer service before your visit rather than waiting until you're onboard.
  • Bring your physical passport: Xoxi requires a valid physical passport for entry; digital copies are not accepted.
  • Dress for dancing, not sightseeing: You'll spend much of the evening aboard the trajinera, with games and dancing built into the experience. Comfortable clothes and footwear make more sense than dressing formally.
  • Keep your camera ready for the music: The passing live bands and colorful trajineras are some of the most distinctive photo moments of the night. Avoid blocking the boat's shared spaces while taking photos.
